Welcome to Grim's Rattery. Our rattery was named after our longest lived
rat, "Grim's Antonym", who passed this year, 2008.
I first started out with only a couple rats as pets. Pet Store bought.
I then met the founder of the local rat rescue, Ratzen Mauzers. I became and I am still very active in the rescue. While doing
rescue I saw how many rats would develope tumors and other major health issues. This took me in two directions. First I started
studying homeopathic remedies for the prevention and cure for these rats. And second, I wanted to start breeding a better
quality rat. I began to study the genetics of rats, and about two years later began to purchase Pedigree Rats from other well
established, respectable ratteries.
We do not breed our rescues, nor buy our rats from pet stores.
Our main goal in breeding is health and temperament, color and contour
is our secondary goal. We strive for healthy, long living, loving rats.
Any rats that are purchased or adopted from our
rattery will not be used as nor bred for food, they will not be sold to laboratories,
if you buy a rat from us and can not keep it you will contact us. We will not sell to pet stores.
